How does Win2003 differ from Win2008 in terms of logon?
In the wake of this question of mine, it was revealed that the problem is only with logon for 2008 (the terminal itself has nothing to do with it). So what did MS wind up in 2008 that such a jamb is happening? Did they do something in the smb protocol, as with rdp? Or is there something else here? Has anyone experienced roaming profiles with 2008 + smb on linux? Are there treatments? Or maybe it's the version of the server?
Win 2003 SP3
Win 2008 R2 Exterprise

2k8 has much stricter security settings. Either upgrade Samba to support them or downgrade policies to WinSvr.
Dig into gpedit.msc - computer settings - security policies.
Hm. samba generally works very basic with a domain, unfortunately. At one time, we deployed 2k3 for this reason and now we are migrating the file storage to 2k8.
