How does the installed font in the system change the font in chrome?

Good day! I installed the PT Sans font into the system in order to work in Photoshop, but I noticed one oddity, for some reason, on all sites where this font is used, it is set either smaller or starts to shrink in width. The effect is observed only in google chrome. I would be grateful if someone could tell me what it could be. Here are the skins.
before installation:

After:

Google did not give an answer, maybe I was looking for it wrong.

Are you sure that before installing this font, it was really used on websites?
Websites usually specify a sequence of fonts from which the browser selects the font that is present in the system.
