How does this comparison even happen, on the server or client side, through data parsing or something else ..?

Briefly and without going into details ... Through queries to database tables, in the cells of which information about the product is entered, and then the entered parameters are compared according to the templates. Traditionally, this is done through php, but it can also be done from the client side, although it is not necessary, for security reasons.
