How does Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager update running applications?
An application is being developed that will continuously work on a self-service terminal.
Sometimes an application needs to be updated using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 .
Q: How does Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager behave when it needs to update a running application? Will Configuration Manager kill my app's process by itself, or do I need to track new updates to my app through the SDK Center Configuration Manager and close my app myself?
In my case, an update means replacing several ddl files that the application uses.

Tested on SCCM 2012 R2 - installed office 2013 over office 2010 and uninstalled the latter. For the sake of experiment, I left open ms word with an unsaved document, launched by outlook. Deploy - Required. Bottom line: office 2010 was removed, office 2013 was installed, the unsaved word document was not lost, outlook was not corrupted.
