How does a computer remember time?

Let's say my computer is not connected to the Internet (not a laptop, that is, it doesn't have any batteries)
When I turn it off and, say, turn it on in a year, how will it understand that exactly a year has passed?
He was completely disabled.

In any computer on the motherboard there is a battery and a real-time clock that always works. If the battery goes bad / sits down, the time will be reset to default. It is enough for 2-6 years
