So it's better to completely tear it off, but then traces remain.
How are you removing them?

I’ll give my answer right away: literally half an hour ago, a sticker with Asus K50IJ could not be erased.
I thought for a long time what to wipe.
Invented with soap.
I put a little soap on my fingers, rubbed the place with traces of glue, and then wiped it with a damp cloth.
All traces are gone.

If you peel off the sticker correctly, there will be no traces left at all. It is difficult to explain in words, you need to show it, but if in general terms: you need to pull not to the side from the torn edge to the glued one, but up and towards you, then all the glue remains on the sticker.
