How do you print books?

I want to print a couple of documents (books), I would like to know how you print books (how many pages per sheet, on both sides, etc.) If possible, I will be glad to see photos of the work.
If you print on both sides of one sheet, what to do with the margins? Margins are larger, in PDF, always on the left, while when printing double-sided, the margins of the second page should be on the right?

The old offices had plugins that converted a Word document into a Word document with columns for printing in a book.
New offices can print with a book.

Once done in "Adobe PageMaker" (now "Adobe InDesign"), and now you can do a lot in Word at once!
And as for printing - many normal MFPs can print a "book" - you just print it - and at the output you get a fully printed copy of the book, you just have to bend it in half (A4) and fasten it ..

Adobe Reader has a booklet printing feature (4 pages per sheet). The printer only requires duplex printing. The order of the pages will be set automatically, then just cut / bend the pack.

Adobe reader allows you to print a booklet. Accordingly, you can fit 4 A5 pages on an A4 sheet (well, or 4xA4 on A3). Then it is folded in half and cut / intertwined / stitched.

If you want to do it yourself, I can't help. But if you are satisfied with piece-by-piece printing of books to order, I advise you to look on popular bulletin boards (in Ukraine - olx.ua, I think there is something similar in Russia).

Margins, in PDF, are always on the left,

What does "always left" mean? There are margins on the top and bottom, on the left and on the right, and I have not seen a single document without at least one of them. And they are the ones that were provided when the document was created. For example, when using LaTeX, this is done in the preamble (single-sided or double-sided printing).
