How do you find freelance clients?

I have been working as a freelancer for 3 years now, mostly word of mouth clients. I am a UI/UX designer. There were no money projects on the stock exchanges, so I don’t sit there. At the beginning, I sent out a mailing list to the studios and offered to work remotely until I had my own client base. Now they periodically cooperate with only one company and the rest of my clients. What is your experience?

Word of mouth + search for clients at thematic events.

post your resume on various sites and send your resume remotely, that's the whole secret.

In gamedev, the only option is the development environment forum. No one will ever leak a good contractor to competitors, and no one really communicates with colleagues.

You can find it on freelance exchanges. But there it is necessary to "untwist" for a long and hard time.
If there is a portfolio, then there will be chances.

Depends on your level of knowledge. If you only know how to make up and put on a CMS, then there is nothing to do on the stock exchange, there are plenty of such people. If you know how to write plugins for CMS and create more complex projects, then it's worth a try.
