How do wi-fi routers determine the device type?
My router shows what is connected to it, phone or computer. Can you tell me how is the definition?
And what are the unique parameters that the device transmits when connecting to the point, except for the MAC address?

When a radio frequency carrier is detected, devices exchange a lot of information, coordinating with each other how they will work (frequency channels, modes: master, Ad-Hoc, ...) - there are many parameters that you don’t even suspect exist ;-)
Everything this is described in detail by the IEEE 802.11 standard ... which has several extensions: 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n ...
If you really need it, take the standard and read it. And there is no other way to sort out the details!
And actually MAC is quite enough. It can be used to determine the manufacturer of the chip. Well, then it's a matter of logic. But in general, it's still a fortune-telling in the thick of it. You can scan ports, you can sniff http packets (they generally have everything).
