What literature can be studied on network technologies - routing, ethernet basics, server setup, how it all works and is configured, windows and unix systems

Books are of course useful, but you have to boil in this mess, since the manuals only consider one specific option, but when you go out into the world you can find something like that ... that actually is not even close in any book. So arm yourself with a virtual environment and tests, a lot of tests, trial, error and start all over again. Good luck in your endeavors
