How do images from another resource affect SEO?

How does SEO affect if the images on the site are loaded from another resource? Does it matter?

Doesn't affect SEO in any way.
There is an impact only if images from a third-party resource take longer to load than from their own server.
And there are also several indirect factors:
1- if this picture is shared or posted somewhere, then the link will lead to a third-party site, and not to yours
2- if there are any problems on a third-party site or the picture is simply deleted, then you there will be a broken link, which is not good

For SEO, no.
BUT! Download speed (resource responsiveness) - Google fixes and uses it in the ranking rules!
Therefore, only the responsiveness of the page from your resource affects.
Solution: Use adaption via LazyLoad ("lazy" loading) to load images with accessibility check (return code if loading is not possible - hide the image!), load only when they fall into the center of view (viewport and 1 viewport up and down for proactive reading). All this will allow you to load the entire page (located on your resource) without any delay.
