How can I turn off the sound in the headphones as soon as the sound appears in the microphone?
I'll try to describe in more detail. There is a sleeping baby. There is a working father listening to music with headphones (Nokia BH-503 headset). The headset is connected to a Win7 computer. Are there programs that, when sound appears in the microphone, turn off the sound (or make it quieter) in the headphones. Those. the child cried - they turned off the sound in the headphones, I listened to the child.

Can it be easier to look for programs that broadcast sound from a microphone to headphones with amplification? This is more likely, moreover, you can try to do it using OS tools.
It seems to me that if you have headphones with a headset, then therefore, the microphone is closer to you, and not to the child. In such cases, if the microphone is as sensitive as possible to sound, in order to hear the slightest cry of a child, then this may cause discomfort to you, since the microphone will react to the noise you make more, as you are closer (creaking of a chair, sigh, clicking of a mouse and etc.).
Maybe you should try a baby monitor on your smartphone: Link 1 , Link 2 ?
These, it seems, have Skype compatibility - a call to Skype when a child is crying.
If you always have Skype turned on, then, in my opinion, it’s not a bad signal for a computer))
