How can I restore the standard resolution of an external monitor?

Hello!
An external monitor is no longer correctly detected when connected to a laptop. In the screen resolution settings, the monitor is defined as DP2VGA V152 with a maximum resolution of 1680x1050. This happened after the laptop was put to sleep (hibernation) without a monitor connected to it, and woke up with it already. Before that, everything was OK, the monitor was defined as Samsung and it was possible to set the resolution to 1920x1080.
Laptop: Acer Aspire E1-572 with integrated Intel HD Graphics
Monitor: Samsung P2350
OS: Windows 7
Connect via VGA
Tried:

  • boot in 640x480 mode
  • reinstalled video card drivers
  • disconnect / connect in various variations
  • remove all monitors from the "Monitors" section in the device manager
  • numerous reboots

Couldn't google solutions. Perhaps someone has come across a similar situation? Please help me to return 1920x1080 on the monitor.

@devlen

Connect the HDMI - DVI wire, or HDMI - HDMI-DVI adapter
At the same time, and the picture will become clearer.

There was the same situation, oddly enough it helped to turn off the monitor. Then I turned everything back on, connected the wire, and the resolution on the monitor became normal.
