How can I improve the performance of HDD (data) with SSD (system)?
Good afternoon,
An SSD is installed on the computer, where the system, all programs and all the data necessary for daily work are stored.
Additionally, there is a Seagate ST1000DM003 HDD , where only archives, distributions, videos, etc. are stored. This HDD is used little, it may even not be used at all in a day, or maybe several times. I mostly work on the computer.
Naturally, in this mode, the disk stops (and my disk stops quickly anyway) and every time it is accessed, it starts spinning hard. This happens not only when you open any file or folder on this disk, but also when you start the computer, when you exit the standby mode, and for example, when you open "My Computer", when you start some programs (probably scan the list of disks) that I do not something that irritates, and the disk becomes a pity.
Question. How can the situation be corrected, improved?
Disk physical enable/disable method is not suitable)
UPD:
My HDD's disk stop time setting is not configurable. Whatever setting you set in the settings, the HDD still lives its own life, stops after 20 minutes. This is a known firmware problem.

Remove the letter and mount the drive "as an empty NTFS folder". I do not think that the programs will get to this folder and turn. For reliability, hide it by 2 levels of nesting, so that when opening the root of the C: drive, the program does not try to look inside the folders in order to take desktop.ini from there, for example, and draw an icon.
what can be twisted:
1 The idle time after which the HDD goes into hibernation is set in the power plans (in the control panel)
2 Theoretically, in Computer Management> Disk Management - remove the "drive letter" from the partition / partitions on the HDD and then the partitions will not be displayed in "My Computer", and will not be used by the system until the letter is assigned back.
