How can I find out how many times my application makes requests to the API?

I want to use the API for my application, for example, I registered on the Marvel website, and received private and public keys and it says

3000 calls/day. Number of calls your application can make per day.

How to find out the number of requests? And is it a little 3000 requests or enough for a normal application? And what will happen if the number of requests exceeds the allowable value?!
