how best to make an avr socket
hi, I bought an AVR Butterfly, I wondered how best to make sockets, I want something like pins on the motherboard, but I don’t know what they are called :) they
didn’t find a suitable one in the store.
another question,
what is the difference between firmware via RS232 using the built-in bootloader and firmware via a programmer?
What books would you recommend to get started?

Naturally there are other sizes, including in one row. From the plugs, the required number of contacts is easily bitten off with wire cutters.
Through the programmer, a new firmware can always be uploaded. The corresponding logic is implemented in hardware. And the bootloader, firstly, still needs to be registered on the crystal, and secondly, it can be damaged. Then you have to take on the programmer. But the option with a bootloader is cheaper and allows you to make more complex update schemes, including remote ones.
www.platan.ru/pdf/00789.pdf - Here is a good document on pin headers. You probably need cable jacks to connect to this board? In this case, look for BLS/BLD connectors.
I'll answer an additional one. Flashing via boot requires the flashed code itself. If counter. clean, then alas: (And the firmware through the programmer requires the programmer itself, which is very expensive. Usually they do this: if the counter is upgraded, then the string is updated on the spot via RS. And if the counter is dead and changes entirely, then only with the programmer.
