How are things going with the promotion of the game in the Apstore?

I haven’t encountered the app store yet, so the question is - how are things going with games, like on Google Play for free with game stores? Or are more sold fully? Or how does the game promotion system work there?
So in general I was going to sell a game in which there is no store and advertising ....
Another option is free but as a demo version, that is, after a certain level, buy and play further ...

The game is generally sharpened for both a smartphone and a PC ....

The general laws are about the same. Mobile development is indispensable without marketing.
In simple terms, even if you have a super cool and interesting game, sales come down to the following (with any monetization system):
1) You buy a player, for example, for $ 1 (that is, pay for advertising through which the player learns about your game and buys it).
2) The player brings you at least $1.
3) Profit.
That is, it’s like a black box where you invested X, and then received Y.
Of course, by choosing the promotion method, you can slightly change X without touching Y. But if X is much larger than Y (that is, the game sucks), then by no means promotion does not fix the situation.
And in the presence of a good game for which X < Y, the cost of marketing is many times higher than the cost of the game itself.
It's not that the iOS audience is against f2p, it's just that such a model usually signals all sorts of dark patterns of pulling the dough out of the client. And clients are used to being valued and not taking out their brains for nothing, and even more so, they are not deceived. Well, since you already bought an iPhone, then in theory b2p is not a problem. But what exactly will be more profitable - you need to watch a specific game, and even then the assessment will be approximate.
