How to set up a public mailbox in Exchange 2016?

Goodnight! I would like to hear the advice of the experienced. The task is the following, there are common mailboxes like [email protected], [email protected], etc. These boxes must be given access to several employees. Previously, they used free Yandex mail for domains, they simply connected the mailbox via imap to all users. They see emails, see when they've been read, shared tags, and so on. - convenient, everyone is used to it. Now we have installed Exchange 2016.
I tried to start a shared mailbox and give full rights. It seems that everything is fine, the user enters the domain, his personal mail and the general mailbox are automatically connected to him, but this trick does not work in mobile clients. Again, when reading letters, they end up in the user's personal Inbox folder and others no longer see this letter.
Tried the mailing list. It's not convenient that it's not clear whether someone read the letter or answered it ...
So far, the last thought remains in my head, to create ordinary users in AD with mailboxes [email protected], etc. and then stupidly handles to connect them to Outlook as a second Exchange box. The question is how correct is this solution? Will it work normally if 5-10 people have one mailbox both on PC and on mobile phones?

A shared mailbox differs from a regular one by one attribute in AD. According to the regulations, a rummaged box is a disabled account in AD.
I think the advantages are clear - it does not belong to anyone, users have rights to it, with auditing enabled - you can track who is doing what in the box.
Nobody bothers to start boxes as regular accounts and distribute passwords to users - the disadvantages are also obvious - it is not clear who, when and why deleted or sent letters.
But since your ekschendzh, no one has the right to forbid you to do this, explain the risks to the management (or to yourself, if the management does not care) and do it the old fashioned way.
