How are the ips of DNS servers located on subdomains determined if they are specified in the ns records of the domain?

Example:
yahoo.com
ns-records:
ns1.yahoo.com.
ns2.yahoo.com.
ns3.yahoo.com.
ns4.yahoo.com.
ns5.yahoo.com.
But the yahoo.com domain does not have CNAME records with nsX subdomains How does
