How are keywords indexed?
I have a completely "noob" question, but it's important to understand. Are keywords something that needs to be somehow highlighted in the text of the article so that the search engine sees them, or does it happen automatically?

According to the HTML 5 specification, the tag <b>
should be used last when no other tag is more appropriate. The HTML 5 spec says that headings should be tagged with <h1> - <h6>
, highlighted text should be <em>
tagged with , important text should be tagged with <strong>
, and tagged/selected text should be tagged with <mark>
tag.
Answering the questions: yes, the search engine sees keywords automatically, but it better ranks sites where these words are located first of all in tags <title>
and <h1>
, secondly, in some other tags. Indexing, as correctly noted above, has nothing to do with keywords, since the entire page is indexed.
