How and where to assemble a team for a startup?
Good evening everyone!
I have a question, I think that some of you once had it too.
The idea of a hardware project came up, and in order to increase the quality of the final product, you need to hire an industrial designer, a web developer (to create and maintain the site), and so on.
Although I know a few pluses, I have never come across robotics.
Of course, it would be possible to just hire all these people as freelancers, but this will not be the same at all.
Where to find like-minded people?
Colleagues at work, although they are programmers, are not interested in starting a startup at all.
Searching the forums is unlikely.
Maybe there are some services where people post the idea of their products, and others support them and join them.
Finding professionals is unlikely to succeed, because it is simply not possible to pay them salaries in accordance with the market, that is, they will work in their free time for a possible share of the profits of the final product.
And teaching robotics now, when I have a completely different direction, is not the best idea, to each his own, after all.
Here is such a problem.
Thanks everyone and have a great weekend!

It is very difficult to assemble a team from scratch if you do not assemble it with people you personally know.
Start doing something, develop it, keep a blog (well, or something like that) and people will find themselves. Much greater response to an already started project.
It's easy - just google the magic word "hackathon", in your country, and go to them - these are just events for people like you, and for the people you need.
Including there you will find mentors and even investors, if you are smart enough.
I participate in these all the time.

It seems to me that the problem of all failed undertakings lies in youth, if a person thinks that the world revolves around him. That's when the understanding comes that you are a trembling dipole in this world, then something can happen. The example with Facebook does not roll, his grandfather was either Rockefeller or Ford.
Surprised by the sharply negative responses.
That's exactly how I got into a software startup, so far I'm satisfied.
Only 2 points are confusing for you:
1) "for a possible share" should be replaced with "for a certain share". And not 5-10%, but more serious.
2) the first stage is the creation of a prototype from shit and sticks, then, based on it, look for an investor / business angel.
a) read articles on the same Habré how much it costs to launch your hardware startup, using the example of the same kettle with Wi-Fi
b) without professionals it will be a waste of time and money
c) soberly assess the project’s economics, the pitfalls of production and bureaucracy
at the very least it should be a good idea.
And describe it in such a way that it is clear what it is about (the idea that you have an "unparalleled" supermega idea that will certainly be stolen to earn billions, discard immediately).
And then some - I have a cool idea - write to anyone who is interested.
The question sounded kind of dumb.
I got into my 1 startup after getting acquainted in detail with the idea of the project, which by the time of publication in open resources, incl. and a number of questions asked here, has passed the pre-patent registration. There was a serious thoughtful approach and almost any proposals were considered, incl. and working with freelancers. Along the way, a freelancer is a very loose concept, because. while working at the main job, he can act as a consultant in his field for startups, etc. etc.
I live and work in a country where more than 75% of the state's gross income comes from Hi-Tech startups. A lot of webinars and open discussions are held here on various resources, the same linkedin, etc.
Fortune favours the brave!
I really want to learn hardware development, tell me about your idea. I'm not exactly a beginner.
If you could not interest colleagues at work even with PERSONAL contact, then your personal charisma is not enough.
Only hire.
Good specialists for a share are not interested in any way. They will raise many times more money during the time until your startup takes off.
