Hotspot in windows 7 not accepting connections?
In general, there was a problem with the Windows hotspot on the HP 650. I raise the hotspot itself, all devices see it, but no one can connect.
But at the same time, when a hotspot is raised by another computer, this HP cannot connect to another system.
The very first time the hotspot rose on HP and I was able to connect with it from my Asus, the next day everything was covered with a copper basin. When you try to pick up - writes "Identification" and hangs on it, there are no further reactions.
On HP Windows 7 Home Basic, on Asus 7 Ultimate and Linux Mint 14 (the problem with connecting to HP is the same, under Windows, under Linux)
What can block connections and what could be the problem?
HP is new, so hotspot guard is not worth it. With antiviral there is Doctor Web and everything seems to be.

Before the experiment, it is better to disable all programs and services that may somehow affect (Windows FireWall?).
There is a useful "Event Viewer" snap-in.
Connectify is overkill. Also costs money.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork /?
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
netsh wlan show hostednetwork
The main point - did you share the Internet from an active Internet connection to a virtual Wi-Fi adapter? Judging by the description, this is precisely the problem - the DHCP server is not running on the virtual WiFi. Try, if anything, to remove the sharing and reinstall it.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid="MyFancyNetwork" key=MyFancyPassword keyusage=persistent
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
