Home router traffic dump?

Hello.
I would like to try at home to view all the traffic going through the wi-fi router.
Only this option comes to mind:
The second network card in the home computer, wrap all traffic from the router through it and tcpdump everything that comes to this interface.

Or maybe you will advise which piece of iron is smarter to replace it?
