Hidden Content on a Website: How Bad for SEO?

Can hidden content negatively affect the ranking of site pages? This is not about some black methods, but about really useful content hiding - spoilers and tabs (tabs).
The idea is to split the text into 2-4 tabs. Each tab = paragraph of the article. Thus, you do not need to climb the entire page in search of the desired item, but you can simply switch at the beginning of the page. Items will be clearly visible and convenient. Something like YouTube, when you are on the page with the user's channel.
I understand that there is an analogue - a menu with anchors, but I want just such a method of implementation.
The main disadvantage is that more than 50% of the text will be hidden in these tabs.
