on them with the middle mouse button, but most other links open thus.
Vkontakte, when you try to view an enlarged photo of something, a new window opens with an address like www.ua.n-mobile.net . And this happens only once, then it seems to work as usual.

I looked at what they advise to install from free antiviruses for the home - most converge on MSE. But for 8 it is already installed. I did a system check and everything seems to be clean. What kind of infection I picked up, how to fight?

If you use Chrome, carefully check your installed plugins and extensions. Now it has become popular to replace yesterday's still harmless extension with a malicious one.
