Hardware RAID on VMWare ESXi Server?

Task. Building a fault-tolerant and preferably fast (hardware RAID 10) server based on a hypervisor (VMWare ESXi Server). Based on little experience with hardware and the hypervisor, two questions arise.
1 - How are failing drives tracked in case of a hardware raid?
2 - Does VMWare ESXi Server generally support raids (hardware and software)?
PS And in general, maybe I don’t know something. Push in the right direction.

1. For example blogs.vmware.com/esxi/2010/04/hardware-health-monitoring-via-cim.html.
2. Precisely supported hardware. Haven't tried software. The list is here www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php.
You can also monitor using SNMP.

I studied the issue.
here it is worth separating support for a raid controller and the ability to service it in the usual sense.
support: this is what ESXi will see and let it be used as a disk device. is determined by support in ESXi itself, wired drivers, relatively speaking. a list of supported pieces of iron can be found on the vmware website.
maintenance: determining the status of the array and all kinds of operations with arrays from within the host OS. this requires the manufacturer's utilities to be ported to ESXi. some do it, some don't. Adaptec, for example, generally does, but very slowly, there are no utilities for the latest version of ESXi yet, only for the triple.
a side service option: take an ESXi-supported controller that can be serviced via SNMP or can be remotely managed via IP. but expensive and few options.
