Faced this on a virtual machine. I will not describe a clear fix, but I will convey the essence.
In short, your host and virtual machine are fighting for USB. It helped me (namely with a poppy and an iPhone, yes) shamanism from the category:
- disable the iPhone at the "disconnect device" level in the Windows tray (on the host)
- throw the device in vmvar
- all this in clear timings
- and not the first time
