GUI missing in Ubuntu 12.04 after changing nvidia graphics card driver

I decided to see how different drivers work. Before that, the last one from the list was selected (I don’t remember the name, but it said “with acceleration support”), I chose the first one from the list. Activated, reboot and all. Stuck on the line Starting TiMidity++ ALSA midi emulation… [ OK ]. Now I somehow finished it to the point that it enters the console mode and requests a login. I tried this and this , and once I managed to run the previous version of Linux in graphical mode, now it does not work.
Video card nVidia GT 610.

@KoteSoft

KoteSoft you stepped on the standard rake, a step away from nvidia-current leads to non-working drivers.
You need to remove everything dpkg -l | grep nvidia
sudo apt-get remove no, only sudo apt-get purge

Delete them and install nvidia-current from the repository and everything will be fine.

@ZUZ

Try it
mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf.bad
I did it when I had this
