Google Webfonts stopped working (Mac OSX)

Yesterday on my laptop SUDDENLY custom fonts with google webfonts stopped working on all my projects. Fallbacks started loading instead. The problem affected all browsers. Google webfonts itself began to look something like this:

Reboot, clearing the cache did not help. OS X latest.
What to do?

The Google Webfonts project is probably the closest candidate for closure, so have fallbacks ready.
