Google Chrome hangs when using the touch screen. What to do?

I have a Samsung Slate 7 laptop. When I work with Google Chrome with my finger, it freezes strangely. Tabs won't close, chrome won't close, tabs won't switch, pages freeze. As soon as I connect the mouse, chrome comes to life. What's the catch?
