A lot of GUI frameworks have been screwed to Go, so it is quite possible to write desktop applications. The only question is why?
And by the way. Once I made a utility for Redmine, because. was a good lib for working with Redmine REST API. Console desktop application, good as an example?

Used this library for the project. UI was made on React. Worked fine under Linux, MacOs & Windows. go-astilectron
