I want to understand the basic techniques of working in gimp. You need to get the basics right so that the step-by-step instructions in the lessons are not magic. At the moment, I don’t know how to work with graphic editors at all, for me this is something distant and incomprehensible.

I requisition useful books, websites, videos, articles, etc. Maybe it's easier to start with photoshop, and not with gimp?

Oh, that was my case! GIMP is the right choice, as it is very intuitive, you can even figure out its basics by typing :)

There are good tutorials for Gimp , not many, but good ones.
