Free domain for VPS: does it happen?

For all sorts of experiments, I would like to get a domain, of course I understand that it will be, to put it mildly, in a non-standard zone, 3 levels, you can forget about SEO and full rights to this domain.
Here I registered on freenom the day before yesterday, yesterday I was already thinking about setting it up, and figurines - the site gives a 504 error when trying to enter, like on many other pages of the site. Even with a VPN. (you never know blocking) I tried it on other services - the same, either 504, or the registration button does not work. What happened to them? Did they work before?
PS It already began to seem to me that I'm tearing up my ass for 200 rubles ...

Now there are domains with custom TLDs that cost 1 bucks (example - fdsfs.xyz $1/year on namecheap.com)
I don’t think you should bother much because of such a ridiculous amount and buy it calmly) you can also go to the VPS directly via https:ip address, or do you need a specific domain?

We have a free test domain for hosting service. Spam and phishing are prohibited.
You can take hosting with a test domain if you need additional functionality like on a VPS - there is ssh+perl+python+Node.js.
For VPS, unfortunately there is no domain.
But we have the lowest prices for the cost of domain renewal.
