Forum for a site on wordpress, how to do it right?

Good day.
I'm building a wordpress website and want to add a forum to it. I looked at embeddable forums like bbpress, but for some reason they did not inspire me.
Looked at separate forums, stopped at IPB.
Then questions arise, if you put IPB as best, hang it on the same database with WP or separately?
How then to bring the forum to a subdomain like forum.site.com?
can the ipb forum be combined with a wordpress site so that the user avoids two registrations?

If you are just an amateur, then put "bbpress" and do not suffer. Of course there are "plug-ins" that combine IPB and WP, but these are still two different platforms, and the more platforms - the more work and your time will be spent on it. What if you want to create a community (not "BuddyPress") and / or a store (not "WooCommerce"), then you are generally tormented with administration. Also, do not forget that if you do not like "bbpress", then most likely you have not found a template whose appearance would suit you, but they are :)

If you put on 2 bases, there may be problems with authorization.
