Close, but still, the fort language is more like a macro assembler for a fort processor.

I used Forth a long time ago. Well, I read a lot about him then. It seems to be so - the Forth processor directly executes the Forth program. But I am only familiar with the theory, I have never "felt" a Forth processor.

Yes it is.
By the way. In addition to conventional and fort processors, the USSR also had a LISP processor. His analogue was LISP assembler.
