What processor to choose for 3d max?

Hello, for infrequent tasks (modeling and visualization of an object), you need to take a Windows computer, I look at deshman monoblocks, the question is, does it make sense to take the old 8-thread i7-2670QM or take a 2-core i3 or i5 fresher than 4-6gen.
On the one hand, I understand that it’s impossible to run above 16 max on i7, due to the lack of sse4 instructions (2670QM supports avx), well, let’s say this can be measured, but the question is whether I will get all 3+ GHz per core or in a monoblock case when rendering not count on it with his tdp and throttling? And will it be more profitable to render on a colder and more optimized software on a new stone, but with fewer cores and frequency?
In short, in a warm room in a monoblock, only for max + vrey any version which is better: i7-2*** or i5-4***
Thank you =)

Why don't you consider TR from AMD? Even the cheapest ThreadRipper drives the most powerful desktop Intel into minuses.
