Flying cars, where to start?

Hello!
If here are interested in this? What are you reading? (books are of particular interest)
I am a complete noob in this, not counting 3 years of studying at a college with a degree in mechanical engineering))))))
The books that I plan to read are directly related to mechanical engineering technology, but in order to try to understand the essence, you need to pull out what something from the air. What?)

Young woman? Flying cars?
I would marry you :-)
To be honest, we touched on my favorite childhood topic. Then he liked to leaf through the book "I'm building a car", where Soviet engineers shared their experience in building their dream car from "shit and sticks". Then there were attempts to find the optimal type of aircraft to fit into the parameters of a conventional car (5m x 2m), from hovercraft, ekranoplan, flying wing to jet tiltrotor.
But, as already mentioned, one of the simplest aircraft is a gyroplane. The Wiki has links to books on the theory of their construction and to forums for those who like to fly and construct. There is even a very good commercial implementation of the PAL-V ONE autogyro car. But, of course, a jet tiltrotor like Moller 's would be cooler.

Who needs flying cars? Invent the flying skateboard! At least he does not have to get permission and a pilot's license.
