Flash drive or memory card for a virtual machine?

There is a macbook pro 2015, but software is periodically required, which is only available for Windows. Therefore, I use Parallels, but the problem is that the memory in the poppy is only 128Gb.

Therefore, the idea came up to buy a USB flash drive, transfer the virtual machine files to it. Is it possible? Will work? If so, what kind of flash drive or memory card would you recommend so that Windows would work quickly in a virtual machine?
