FirstVDS + proftpd?

Good afternoon, habrausers!
Please tell me a possible solution ...
A year ago I bought a virtual server for a personal page on firstvds (I like to delve into the console, so I didn’t take virtual hosting, but took a normal virtual server).
And everything seems to be set up normally, but there is an incomprehensible problem.
The point is that when I connect via FTP, it takes a few seconds between the 'invitation' and the server's response… ie. the connection is not instantaneous.
Status: Connecting to xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:21…
Status: Connection established, waiting for prompt…
- 3-4 second delay
Response: 220 ProFTPD 1.3.1 Server (Debian)
Has anyone experienced this?
Server Info:
Debian 5.0
ProFTPD 1.3.1

This is what happens when the FTP daemon tries to resolve the IP address of the machine they are connecting from into a DNS name.
See if you have it enabled.

Most likely DNS. The reverse zone, to be precise.
