Extensive Internet access via WI-FI + goodies?
Good day!
I decided to make a bullet out of shit extensive Internet access by means of WI-FI + goodies.
Task:
Distribute the Internet via WI-FI (n / g) to a maximum of 15 devices (an area of \u200b\u200b200 square meters, in some places concrete, therefore 2 routers).
Raise an HTTP and FTP server with a low load (uploading pictures for habra posts and personal files).
Raise the torrents rocker. RDP/VNC server management or something like that.
Print and scan server.
Only the server will be guaranteed to download torrents.
Means for execution:
Internet access: 12Mb/s.
Routers: Edimax BR-6524 (b/g/n), Asus RT-N16 (b/g/n). both on DD-WRT.
Old laptop: Toshiba Satellite A10 (CPU: Pentium M 4 2.2Ghz, RAM: 1Gb 333Mhz, HDD: Ide 80Gb, 5400rpm)
250 GB external hard drive.
Great enthusiasm and some free time.
Maybe someone faced a similar task or can poke their noses at articles on the topic. I myself did not go further than setting up routers in networks.
Questions:
What OS is better to use, what and how to route traffic (by a server or routers), how to combine routers into a network so that when moving, the client switches to a router with a more powerful signal.
Thanks in advance.

Take Debian if you have Linux experience, or Ubuntu if you don't.
Set up NAT using the built-in firewall (iptables). Here is a good article on the topic - rc.firewall . You need to take this script. Edit it based on the article and you'll have NAT+ good (but not perfect) protection against all sorts of external troubles.
About the association of routers - a strange situation. Here is my question on this topic - http://habrahabr.ru/qa/6483/ . If you are interested in how my communication with the guys who made the codefest ended, write in a personal, copy-paste our correspondence. Nothing worked out for me, but it is possible that the method is working, and I have problems with my routers.
Well, just assemble the circuit and put it to work, after your story, even I have no questions left.
I wanted to say something about blowing my brain “by means of WI-FI”, but I looked at the author’s nickname and changed my mind -)
I would take FreeNAS for the server, though the question remains about the server scan, I have never encountered its organization, I can not advise anything.
But Apache, FTP, torrent downloader (Transmission), print server are quite possible. The first three are included in the standard package and are configured via the Web interface. Regarding the print server:
sourceforge.net/apps/phpbb/freenas/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1332
Plus, we get ZFS support and a bunch of easily customizable exchange services as a load.
If you wish, you can also add routing here (if it is interesting to delve into FreeBSD), but it will be easier to configure it with routers, IMHO.
