Friends, tell me please, I encountered this kind of problem and I want to understand what is the reason.
I use ping viber.com - losing 4 packets out of 4, but I access the site through the browser!
I have an asus n550jx-ds74t laptop with a
network card - Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
, and if I set this parameter to Auto, the adapter does not work and there is no Internet access.
Please tell me what could be the problem?

And because on viber servers, ICMP requests are cut by the firewall. Ping like all normal people Yandex or Google. I'm pinging 8.8.8.8 :)

My answer is, what channel width does your access point work with? Probably also only 20 MHz?
