Exporting a machine from AWS?
Good afternoon friends!
I ask for advice on how best to export the machine from AWS. That is, put the instances in your local virtual environment. Linux and Windows.
-You can't do this with AWS EC2 API-Tools because export is only available for imported machines.
-Now I'll try to make Wirth. hard drive from them using VMWare Converter and XenConvert, but no result (yet).
- Still thinking about Rsync. Q: How does rsync deal with whole system transfers? Do you have to add a lot? Synchronization is also interesting in that it will be possible to update the local server in the same way, automatically.
Thanks in advance for ideas.
UPD: Unfortunately, it didn't work with XenConvert. I mounted the disk of the desired system to the temporary system and converted it to OVF. As well as in a separate file, and directly to the local Xen server. In both cases, after several hours of conversion - "Failed to import the OVF Package". In XenSever, the machine is hidden, it does not start - No bootable Device". The Windows startup repair utility does not see the system. I'm trying further.

It was possible to pull out the Windows machine, relatively quickly, but with the help of a third-party program. I'm testing. Later I will leave the algorithm of actions here.
UPDT
It turned out to transfer the system using Acronis Backup&Restore.
I connected the disk with the system to another Windows instance, made a full backup of the necessary disk there and restored it on the local machine.
But in general, yes, doing so is complete trash.
