Electronic version of the book. Sale and purchase

Suppose I have an electronic version of my book in my hands. What are the first steps towards selling a book? Is it worth contacting the publisher or is it better to sell the electronic version? Perhaps someone has experience.

Selling an electronic version and contacting a publisher are not always opposite actions. There are organizations that sell e-books and at the same time call themselves publishing houses.
I think it is possible to organize the sale of an e-book without a publisher.
Here is an informative article from Oleg Divov about publishers: divov.livejournal.com/277148.html

It is strange that you did not look for this on Habré, here you have repeatedly shared your experience in publishing books. Here is an excellent article: habrahabr.ru/blogs/arbeit/107323/
On my own behalf, I can add that publishing a printed version of a book is a very difficult task. Perhaps you should turn to special services like Scribd, they allow you to upload and monetize your content.

Regarding the electronic version. I found out yesterday that Ozon has started trading the electronic version of books, you can check the conditions with them at the same time.
