Editing files on github. How is it better?

I edited an already working telegram bot, as a result of which it apparently died. I
edited the index file itself .
The first editing and reassembly went without problems.
And then the Application gave a build error, but the bot continued to work (apparently referring to the previous save)
Having not found an error in the syntax, I decided to roll back the Application to the previous save in a rustic way (just taking the old index data and replacing it with copy-paste)
Now the application build is clean (there is nothing in the log), but now the bot itself has gone out, zero emotions for commands.
Who can advise what?).. And what is the right thing to do in such situations?
I link to dokker from github.
Thanks in advance!
