Edit .ide files?

From time to time I accidentally upload changes to .ide files like .idea/php.xml that need to be rolled back or reverted. That's just shmort does not show these files in the search, the only option is manually through a text editor.
Or is there a way to go from phpstrom and change, roll back a specific file to the desired state?
I tried if something like this to roll back a specific file
