Easiest way to get 3d model from map area in OSM (alternatives)?

Please tell me how to get a simple model (cubes without detailing) of a Moscow region faster and easier. Is there any way to convert from OSM data? Are there other ways?
Or is it still easier to draw manually based on a flat vector map?
The model is needed as a basis for graphics.

It all depends on the size of the area for which you need to make a 3D model.
If the site is small, and the work is one-time, then it is easier to draw by hand.
If the site is large, then you already need to think about it. A quick test showed that OSM can export map data in OpenStreetMap XML format. And already from it you can extract the coordinates of the corners of buildings, as well as approximately the height (gives the number of floors). Create a text file, where each line is a separate building, with parameters: 4 (or more vertices) + height. Then, using the built-in programming language of the 3D editor, try to create a 3D model. Theoretically, I imagine it, for example, in AutoCAD, using an Autolisp program. As in other editors, I do not know, little experience.
I would be grateful if someone has already solved a similar problem. The topic is interesting)
But perhaps there is specialized software. Looking forward to more replies...

map section from osm can be saved as xml. After that, it is easy to build the model automatically.
You can search this tutorial
here www.cmivfx.com/tutorials/view/233/Houdini+XML+Based+Procedural+Cities
it describes how to do it in Houdini
Also try CityEngine. She can build cities on the map from OSm
