Dual channel or 4?

I currently have 2x4GB of RAM. I want 16GB, and I want to ask if it will be 4x4GB or will it still change and buy 2x8GB, is there a difference?

1. The channel of memory is grand only where there is intensive work with it. in normal operation, the difference between 2 and 4 channels can only be seen under a microscope.
2. you can put at least 16 dice. but if the computer can only do 2 channels, then I don’t care how many dice you have.
decide how many channels you have.
if 4, then 4x4 is optimal.
if 2, then don't care.
