Dual channel memory 2 by 8 or single channel 8 + 16?

I miss my 8GB DDR4 stick while working: browser, photoshop, ae, sublime
What is better to choose:
1. buy the same one for 8 GB and work in dual-channel mode
2. Buy the same frequency and company, but for 16GB

Maybe Are there any comparison tests?

for dual/triple/... channel, it is required that the memory strips be the same size (and a bunch of other conditions), otherwise this mode will simply not turn on, but everything will work fine.
The technology adds to the system in performance (in computing tasks), under ideal conditions of memory testers + 80% to speed (which is unrealistic in working conditions), a simple archiver test shows about 7% -10% performance increase (this is the only consumer task I know where so memory is actively used), in 99% of other cases, the user simply will not notice the difference , a few percent .
Therefore, think carefully, is the additional + 8GB (16 or 24) worth these 1-10% in the speed of applications? Think well.
