Dropped traffic from Google. Presumably due to the placement of Google Adsence ads on the site. How to return the previous positions?

Hello. There is an information site on medical topics. The site is approximately 1 year old. The project continues to develop, new articles appear periodically (2-3 per week). Links were not purchased. Since the launch of the site, there has been a systematic increase in traffic from the Google PS (as seen in the first graph).

All this time, the site was monetized using the Yandex Advertising Network. The article contained 4 ad blocks and a block in the sidebar. The average size of an article is 10,000 characters.
At some point, I decided to try Google Adsence. I left only 1 Yandex block in the article and turned on the display of automated ads from Google. After 5 days, traffic from Google began to drop sharply, there was no reaction from Yandex (see second graph).

Because Since no other changes have been made, it is logical to assume that the reason for the sanctions is the placement of the Google Adsence code. This one removed, returned the previous Yandex blocks. After some time, the traffic began to return.
I did not stop there and decided to try Google advertising again. This time I did everything with more care: in the settings of automated blocks, I left only overlay blocks on mobile devices. From Yandex left 3 blocks per article. After 4-5 days, traffic from Google sank to a minimum (chart No. 3).

Removed the Adsence code completely. Traffic is not returned. No manual action was taken in the webmaster's office. Pages from the Google index were not deleted, they were simply dropped by 10-30 positions in the search results. Behavioral metrics did not change in any way with the inclusion / deactivation of advertising from Google.
Actually the question is: how to return traffic? Tell me, in which direction to dig and do you have any thoughts why the site fell under sanctions?

Ivan, your site belongs to the YMYL type. Adsense has nothing to do with it. You caught a plop from an assessor for a flaw (or rather, the complete absence of EAT). Just in August they were handed out. Read here .
Pay special attention to the comments - I described everything to your colleague in detail.

@RotgarSett

There is an example with exactly the same situation. A 99% drop is NOT due to ads, Google very rarely penalizes their ads.
In my case, there is also a site with a medical theme, as well as an increase in traffic to almost 2000 uniques per day, and then a fall. Two months later, a steady growth and return of traffic began. Google does this with new sites, especially in the medical field.
As a quick solution - buy high-quality links with high moz da pa and majestic cf tf, the site will quickly restore positions.
I also recommend that you conduct an audit, since in the medical field it is important to have some elements like these:
https://www.hon.ch/HONcode/Conduct.html?HONConduct...
https://accreditnet2.urac.org/uracportal/ Directory...
And various pages with information about the authors and so on.
