Dropbox broke icon display in Windows 7

Transferred the Dropbox (2.0) application folder from the user profile to the C drive. I launch the application, everything works correctly, synchronization works, the only problem is that folder and application shortcuts are not displayed. You can see everything on the pictures:

If you turn on the display of large icons, you can see that they are simply hidden behind “broken” images.

Everything works, but it's very ugly. Google did not help, maybe Habr can answer?

I propose to find in the registry all references to the main .exe dropbox client and change the path to it to a new one

Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.

A simple reinstall should help.
And the problem arose due to the fact that the Dropbox Shell Extension, which prescribes for all files, apparently cannot find the desired overlay icon, and Windows substitutes the default one. Either return the transferred files to their place, or reinstall Dropbox.

By the way, turning off DropBox fixes the problem (of course, until the next turn on).

As a fallback, run Autoruns , go to the Explorer tab and uncheck those Dropbox entries that are under the headings
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers
and
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers
then restart Explorer.
All overlays will completely disappear, but then you will not be able to see which files are synchronized and which are not.
